Keep the Heid Mental Health Cafe

The cafe has been running at the Trinity Centre, Haddington from November last year. We recently received funding from Haddington and Lammermuir Local Area Partnership and the Community Health & Wellbeing Fund administered by Volunteer Centre East Lothian allowing the cafe to continue for at least the next 3 months..

Attendees have all reported that the cafe has helped lift their mood and widened their social circles – for instance one of our older attendees has got two of the younger men to help him with his garden and they are meeting regularly outside the group.

The cafe is facilitated by a professional and provides a safe space to talk about mental health. There is no need for a formal diagnosis and no need for a referral. The cafe is completely free and open to anyone aged over 16.
