COVID-19 Update

Face Masks and Face Coverings.

As we are now required to wear these in shops and on public transportation the surgery has had a few requests for letters of exemption. As per the Scottish government guidance it is advised that you use your own discretion when in situations where social distancing can’t be maintained. If you have a health condition where you are worried or shouldn’t use a mask please again use your discretion at what’s best for you. Please note there is no requirement for you to have a letter of exemption from your gp so it’s not something the practice will be able to provide

COVID-19 symptoms: if you develop a continuous cough, fever / high temperature or loss of sense of smell, stay at home for 7 days from the day your symptoms started.

If you have these symptoms, but need to speak with a doctor, please call NHS 24 on 111 – this remains the first point of contact for all suspected coronavirus patients.

APPOINTMENTS: currently for the safety of all our patients and staff, we are assessing all patients by telephone initially, and if required, arranging a face to face review.

If you feel your problem is urgent for the same day please speak with reception and ask for a doctor to call you.  To help manage demand we would greatly appreciate if you could phone as early in the day as possible.

If you feel your problem is routine/non urgent, we are offering pre-bookable telephone slots with doctors.  If your problem can safely be managed in this way, we would appreciate using this option to help us manage demand.

Nursing and blood taking appointments remain available for essential conditions.
Chronic disease management – we are looking at how to start offering more chronic disease management in line with official guidance.

The building is locked: please only attend the practice if you have been asked to do so.

During this difficult time we would like to thank all of you for being so patient and considerate, while we work to continue providing the highest standard of care.
