About the Group
Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy, facilitated by a trained art therapist and co-facilitator. You will be supported to use art materials to help you express yourself. Sometimes it’s hard to talk about feelings. Creating art is a way to explore emotions and experiences. You don’t have to be ‘good at art’ to take part, instead we offer you a space to use art materials.
The group is for people affected by their own or someone else’s substance use, past or present. If you have been struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem of feelings of shame, these are common and this group will provide a safe, therapeutic space for:
• connection with others with whom you may share experiences
• reduced isolation
• emotional support and nurture
• you to express yourself through art
