Ormiston Medical Practice Tynemount Road, Ormiston, East Lothian, EH35 5AB

Appointments

How to book:
  • We have changed the way you can book a GP appointment
  • We have lots more pre-bookable appointments to offer with any GP.
  • We no longer offer “On the Day” appointments at 8am.
  • Only medical emergencies will be seen on the day once a GP has assessed the urgency of the request.

Non-urgent advice: Please Note

Our Doctors and Nurses have certain areas in which they specialise, and our Reception staff will help to try and guide you to their individual of expertise, if you are able to inform them of the reason for the appointment. Please see under each individual Doctor’s profile for further details about this.
Appointments can usually be made up to 4-6 weeks in advance.

Home Visits

If you need to see a Doctor but you are too ill to come to the surgery or are house-bound, please let us know as early as possible preferably before 10.00 a.m. unless it is a medical emergency. The GP will phone you back to obtain more details of your medical condition. This allows the Doctor to triage and plan his/her visits around booked surgeries. If you feel the matter is urgent, please give our trained Receptionists as much information as possible, so the Doctor knows whether he/she needs to interrupt his/her surgery to prioritise the home visit. Please remember that home visits are only for people who are housebound or are too ill to attend the Practice. Please note that we prefer to see children in the surgery as this allows a more comprehensive assessment to be performed.

Telephone Advice

If you would like advice from a Doctor or Nurse Practitioner over the telephone, please ring the Surgery and ask the Receptionist for a routine telephone consultation. Please give the Receptionist your contact details (ensuring that we have a note of your current land line and mobile number), and an idea of what you want advice on. If you feel that you require urgent advice, please indicate this to the Receptionist, who will give this information to the Doctor or Nurse Practitioner.
